Liposuction is absorbtion of the fatty tissue by a vacuum with the help of cannulas from some areas such as neck, abdomen, waist, hip, arm, tigh and calf. The most important point, which must be kept in mind, is that liposuction is not a way for loosing weight. If fatty areas still remain on some areas even after diet and sport, liposuction is apply to these places. The ideal liposuction candidate has fatty areas which is remain even after diet and sport. Liposuction is not effective if there is a sagging. Liposuction helps to shape body yet, it is not a way of loosing weight.
Although liposuction ends up with good result on person who has regional fat deposits, it does not work on obese patients.
Operation
General anesthesia or local anesthesia may be used depending on operation area or preference. At the beginning of operation, special solutions are injected to operation areas to reduce pain and bleeding. Duration of operation vary depending on largeness of operation areas. Post operative scars are not important, because cannulas, which have 3-4 mm pores, are used. Excharging time is the same day or the day after depending on largeness of operation areas.
After the operation
Bruising or swelling which are temporary could be seen in early period after the operation. The patient has to wear corset for four weeks after the operationto to form the body. Swelling is regress in time and real body lines could be seen a month after the surgery. Swelling regression time and tissue softening time are about three months.
