One of the first signs of aging on face is eyelids. Eyelids are quite important to form facial expressions. Hanging on skin and muscles on upper lids, and bulging on lower lids appear with aging. This causes tired, aged and sleepless imaging. The redundant fat pads, muscles and skin are removed with blepharoplasty. Blepharoplasty is done individually on upper and lower lids. Upper and lower blepharoplasty might be done at the same time or blepharoplasty might be performed in conjunction with other procedures such as face lift, brow lift, etc. More vibrant and younger appearance might be obtained with blepharoplasty.
Operation
Blepharoplasy can be done under local and general anesthesia. Reductant skin and muscle are removed through this operation. Fat pads that cause bulging are also removed. The duration of operation is changeable depending on the procedure.
After the operation
Swelling and bruising after the operation is normal and transitory. After the operation, the recovery of the skin takes approximately about one and a half months. During this period, patients are advised to wear sunglasses.
